About EduSG Guide

A transparent look at who we are, how we research and write about Singapore's education system, and why we built this resource.

Clear Information for Complex Decisions

Singapore's education system is well-regarded globally — and also genuinely complex for families navigating it for the first time. Whether you're a parent preparing a child for PSLE, a student weighing JC against Polytechnic, or an expat trying to understand how MOE schools compare to international options, the information landscape can be overwhelming.

EduSG Guide exists to cut through that complexity. We write plain-language guides that stick to verifiable facts, reference official sources, and avoid the kind of promotional language common to commercial education services.

This site does not sell tutoring services, school placement assistance, or educational products of any kind. There are no affiliate links. The guides here reflect research and expertise — nothing more.

Editorial Standard

Every article on this site is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication and updated when MOE, SEAB, or individual school policies change. Where uncertainty exists, we note it explicitly and link to authoritative sources.

Marcus taught in Singapore government secondary schools for eight years before moving into education policy research. He has worked with parents, students, and school administration teams across the primary-to-post-secondary transition. His writing focuses on translating Ministry of Education policy documents and examination board guidance into accessible, accurate information for families without insider knowledge of the system.

Marcus holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education) from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, and a postgraduate diploma in education policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
